The Shelter Island Middle school leaves a lot to be desired. They have forgotten that they are there to make sure the kids learn.They have forgotten that kids respond better to positive rather than negative. Most of the teachers have forgotten to care about the students and care that the kids learn what they are being taught. If you don't understand the material the first time it was taught you are pretty much out of luck. This could be a great school but they have to remember to care.
