LCA is a wonderful school. The class size for our 2 children is about 16/17 per class. In our childrens classes about half of the class makes minimully Honorable mention ( 85 average or higher) each marking period. It is not an easy cirriculum either. The teachers there teach because they want to and enjoy teaching and their students. Sports programs are JV (4th-6th grade) and Varsity (7th-8th grade) Soccer and Basketball. Art and Music I am sure is comperable to the Public Schools. Parent involvment is high (some of the teachers are parents of some of students). If you want to be involved, there is plenty of opportunity. We found that the public schools want you involved, but only on their terms. Overall, I would strongly recommend this school. I wish I knew why the Times Herald Record never reviews this schools performance. It would make the Public Schools look bad!

The school is small. The teachers are excellent. My child is in first grade and has developed beautifully. The staff and Principal are very personable.

I have alot of bad memories at this school. It doesn't help that i went during the 89-90 school year. I still have dreams of that tragic Oct. day. With the help of a terrific friends, family, and staff from the school and B.O.C.E.S. program. I still managed to squeeze in more than enough good memories to out weigh that. Unfortunatly, i was moving up to junior high the very next year, so that was my only school year there. If i still live in the school distict today, i would not hesitate to send my son Bradley there. Wonderful school with strong academic program. Both my children have made wonderful progress as students at Balmville. I believe that the small learning environment and dedicated teaching staff contributes to my children's academic achievment.

I think that Horizon on the Hudson is a very good school my daughter has been enjoying herself and learning a great deal this year - as a new comer to the school as of October 2005 she has been excelling in her studies.

NFA a great school for any student as long as they do they work .NFA offers alot of extracurricular activities n programs to be anything you want to be from drama plays to a certified nurse. great school great teachers

as a student in BDM. I found lots of your comments misleading. I came to this school in 7th garde and loved it ever scince. The teachers are amazing and the school has a good amount of activities offerd. As a student that is not in honors, i see no favoritetism what so ever. In science we do lots of lab experiments and even make lolipops. When i went to a newburgh public school for seven years, i did not like the enviorment . Now that i am at bishop dunn i enjoy the enviorment and think it is a very good school. The drama program is amazing and the dancing is even better. It may seem that there are favorites in the drama program but there isnt. Even as a dancer there still is a lot of comment required. The feild trips are great and i enjoy attending this school.
