This is an excellent school with a vast array of educational and fun activities available to children from Pre-K through Grade 8. My child has attended this school since Pre-K and was reading beginner books by the first marking period. His teacher demonstrated patience, persistence, and consistency in her regiment for the classroom. She drilled into them the ethics of work first and play later. My son still follows that discipline four years later. My husband and I only pray that he continues on this path. All of the teachers show a unique interest in each child and work together with the parents, principal, and other faculty to develop a plan to strengthen each child's weaknesses and promote their strengths. It is a loving and encouraging enviornment. The curriculum at this school is a little more advanced than the average public school, but is still attainable for those transferring from a public school (if they apply themselves). The tuition is reasonable compared to the teacher/student ratio and the results that have been achieved academically as well as his personal spiritual and developmental growth. He will attend this school until he graduates from 8th grade!

My son goes to Bedford and I am so happy he is. He is learning exactly what he should be as a Sophomore. This was a great choice for him and I am so glad they are there for him.

This School is Decent. i know the fights and stuff but we can work this all out and not shut down this public school.

PS256 is the best school ever. I can say ms Hemphil is the best boss of Ps256.

I have been a substitute teacher at PS 305 for the past 2 years. The Principal and the staff and are the most gracious, helpful, caring bunch of educational professionals I have yet to encounter. They truly care about the children and the community. It was a an absolute surprise and I have taught in many schools.... Dr. Mortlley is a female version of Lean on me!(movie)

This school has a big problem with organization. They reduced the amount of teachers that they employ, the class sizes are bigger and the quality of education has gone down greatly. At one point education seemed to be their top priority but now its money. The school has two offices and neither office knows what the other is doing. The teachers expect respect from the kids but do not offer it themselves. The principle tries to avoid all forms of conflict instead of dealing with it, she is never available to speak with you unless she wants you to donate your money or your time to the school. The pastor doesn't offer any support to you other than to tell you that your child is a problem and what are YOU going to do about it. So once your child is labeled a problem child they are going to have a very hard time in the school and will also be looked upon that way.

Not enough school supplies or textbooks the school staff needs more trainings especially when handling difficult situations. They need to have someone that a parent can speak to instead of not having the principal not available each time you would like to speak to him. Also when a child has done something wrong it' not fair that the school hold the student without permission from a parent. I believe the school need a complete turn around to make it a better school. For my son first year it was very dissapointed and very turn off about continuing to go to the school. I hope that every parent please check into the school first.

P. S. 3 is a fantastic school! I know because I have spent the last 20 years of my 33 years teaching at this incredible school. Everyone works together. The music, arts and technology programs are superb and offer students a look into possible career choices. The teachers are dedicated and there's a very active PTA as well as a dynamic parent coordinator. Many of our fith grade students have been accepted into prestigious middle schools such as DeLaSalle Academy, Prep for Prep, Medgar Evers Prep and Mark Twain Middle School for the Gifted and Talented. The negative comments on this site were written by one parent who couldn't manipulative the adminstration and/or school community. P. S. 3 rocks! Come see for yourself!

i think that ps 93 is a great scoohl and it is run by very responsible staff and the majority of its students graduate above state level

This is a great school and I think my child is working at a very high level. My daughter has been attending since kindergarten and she loves it. Her reading abilities and her self esteem is very high. She started school at age 3. Her first year of school was spent at a Catholic school and her second year she attended a public school. The public school was her worst experience. There nothing and what they thought her was the same. One good thing they did was recommend her to the gifted and talented test where she scored a 99. At Leadership Prep Bedfordstuy my daughter reads 2 grades above her level, she currently in grade one. The only fault the school has is there isn t any fun program for the kids to relax.
